Some of you might have thought that Square's allegiance to Sony might be waning in light of the impending Xbox 360 release of Final Fantasy XIII. However, Playstation owners can take heart in the fact that producer Yoshinori Kitase is guaranteeing that the newest installment of Final Fantasy will "make use of nearly 100 percent [of the Playstation 3's power]". This statement begs multiple questions, one which is what this means for the 360 version? Will FFXIII be the first game to truly showcase the hardware superiority of the PS3? Thus far, both systems seem to be locked in a dead heat in terms of graphics, but if what Square is saying is true, this soon may no longer be the case. The second question this article prompts is what this means for the PS3. As we reported earlier today, Sony claims its consoles have a 10 year life span. It would be a little depressing if the full power of the PS3 is already able to be exploited only 4 years into the console's life cycle. As we say in the speculation business, only time will tell.
